A Pack of Lies is a portfolio of prints including this version of an aged Barbie-like portrait. Meimaroglou often depicts the kinds of violence that objectifies women. This computer-modified photograph and generated image transformed into a screenprint shows the idealized “Barbie” juxtaposed with the features of an abused woman who appeared to tell her story on a television reality show. It is the facial features of an aged woman who tries under any circumstances to hold onto her disappearing youth, and as such, is a protest against the constraints of the beauty stereotypes imposed on women. Thus, the title of the portfolio A Pack of Lies, which includes six prints housed in an artist-made, cream-colored paper portfolio cover.
