Selene LaMarca is a visual artist and user experience designer whose practice turns questions into data. Driven by the curiosity of “what if?” she creates experimental photographs combining alternative photography and printmaking practices to explore the boundaries of time, process, and materials. More specifically, what can happen on a sheet of paper? LaMarca received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts with a focus in Graphic Design from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. LaMarca has been featured in exhibitions at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, the Morgan Conservatory, the Center of Art Design and Visual Culture, the Walter Grove Memorial Art Gallery, and internationally at the Experimental Photography Festival. She teaches alternative photography, papermaking, screenprinting, printmaking, and darkroom photography workshops. LaMarca lives and works in Washington, D.C.
