‘Soak’ was printed from a Tetra Pak engraved plate. Tetra Pak is a commonly used carton packaging for perishable goods and it's often encouraged to recycle these cartons by tossing them into a recycling bin. Using them for printmaking is another way to give Tetra Pak another life before heading to the recycling bin. I chose to include a sea creature as my subject, and a seahorse specifically after coming across a video online of a seahorse holding onto a discarded plastic Q-tip, as a way to sit with the realities of trash polluting our oceans.
