Liz Aukamp LaGarde is a mixed media artist in Frederick, Maryland, USA. She experiments with paint and collage after learning about animals, native plants, and local biomes through books, podcasts, and online research. Once a topic is selected, she gathers images and colors that she can play with and rearrange to illustrate her thoughts. She shares her work in galleries in the Mid-Atlantic region, craft shows along the East Coast, and online.
A sense of wonder at the natural world can be found in a simple garden. This piece is a celebration of the rolling green of pastureland, the abundance of farming, and the inherent beauty of vegetables. Layers of paper used to overlay the green hued hills create an almost filmstrip-like composition.
