Letterpress printed using multiple forms filled with 6 to 10 point handset metal type.
the piece contains approximately 24,000 individual sorts,
Framed on the sides with hand carved linoleum blocks. letterpress printed on a Vandercook 4.
These are not printed with photopolymer plates. It is all handset metal
letterpress type.
Everything about this piece is recycled, repurposed or reused & sustainable.
The materials, including the paper, ink, type and presses.
Paper is from a discontinued paper line. They were going to recycle it, instead I
got it donated.
Ink. Came from closed out of business print shops. It was deemed hazardous
waste until I reclaimed it.
Type. Right out of the hellbox. Saved from the recycler. See PtP zine.
