My inspiration for the poster was George Harrison’s song, “Here Comes The Sun.” Every morning serves as a “reset” on everyday life. After rest and time from what was, a new day provides a deeper reflection of the day before, a new beginning. “Here Comes The Sun” reminds us that “it’s all right.” The concept was to visualize the sunrise that George saw as he wrote the song that historic morning in Eric Clapton’s English garden. I selected a 25 line (pica) Gothic wood font for each member of The Beatles and arranged them in vertical layers on the required poster format. Colors were selected to represent the Texas sunrise, where I live. Each of the five colors were printed on a Vandercook Universal I proof press on Boxcar Press Flurry 100% cotton paper.
