Statistics show that 1 in 4 birds have been lost since 1970.
Bring Birds Back is a one-sheet book that reminds us of the small yet meaningful things each of us can do to protect birds. It is printed letterpress from polymer plates (based on original drawings by the artist) on French Kraft-Tone Paper. The wrapper is hand-painted on Arches Cold Press. The back cover of the book names the featured birds in chronological order: white-throated sparrow, dark-eyed junco, evening grosbeak, barn swallow, indigo bunting, and wood thrush, all of whom continue to suffer devastating losses. They are birds I have seen and heard near my home in western Massachusetts. Only these days, I see and hear them less. Edition of 75.
This artwork was purchased from the Pyramid Atlantic exhibition Press On, on view in the Helen C. Frederick Gallery at Pyramid
Atlantic Art Center from May 30-July 20, 2025.
