Looks Good on Paper from Pyramid Atlantic

My work in bookarts and printmaking stems from an ongoing curiosity with nature, the landscape and the wildflowers and weeds that grow there. Carrying a sketchbook with me wherever I go, I record what I see through plein-air drawing and painting. Once back in the studio, I take these sketches and translate them into lithographs, relief prints and artist books.

Material and form are important aspects of my work, as I attempt to transform the traditional codex form into something new and unexpected. I often employ various folded and accordion structures into my books that physically expand the book beyond preserved dimensions and invite the reader to interact with the book and its’ content in an engaging way. Conscious of material, I make specific choices based on the needs of each book. I experiment with a variety of papers from machine made to handmade, hand dyed and hand printed papers.
