Laural Hartman
Los Angeles, 1981
Laural Hartman is a Los Angeles-born artist and printer based in Rochester New York. Laural currently divides her time as a faculty at NTID where she teaches Drawing and Design courses and as a printer for dirtybeardpress, a boutique studio she founded in San Francisco. Laural received her BFA , MS and MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. She also attended California College of the Arts. Laural has been exhibiting nationally and regionally including, The Berkeley Art Center, Berkeley, CA; Mina Gallery, San Francisco, The Delaplaine Gallery, Frederick, MD, The Susan Eley Fine Arts, New York City and most recently, Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, NY. Laural’s work was also featured on WXXI ArtsinFocus. Laural is known for her using pictures of landscapes and maps as a starting point and then she connect and channel her own direct, emotion and intuitive responses to a specific journey in her life until it becomes absolute abstraction.
