Most of my work is natural, no stain, just linseed oil to bring out the natural colors. However, over time I experimented with using two different paint colors: Black chalkboard paint and strawberry red flat paint. For this piece I painted it black and used wax instead of oil to finish the wood, which gives it a lighter colors. Each block measures about 12 x 7.5 inches
