Permutations is a systematic investigation into generative geometry, combinatorics, and structural layerings. Built upon a strict visual rule set, the series utilises five core foundational shapes that are repeatedly layered, combined, subtracted, or re-sequenced. Through this additive and subtractive methodology, identical base components continuously yield entirely new visual configurations and spatial dynamics.
Executed across 25 works, the series uses bold primary colours—red, blue, and yellow—to delineate distinct structural passes. As individual geometric frameworks overlap, they form intricate, labyrinthine grids that challenge the boundary between order and complexity. Permutations demonstrate how finite, highly constrained parameters can generate infinite formal possibilities, transforming mechanical repetition into a dynamic visual system.
