About Where the trees of life and time-like curves converge
Once again I find my practice brings me to contemplate the origins and extensions of life in the universe-- Oddly, at the same time that there are global political forces at war unleashing monstrous actions to which the word truth has no meaning. We have dismantled the power global belief systems that supported hierarchies of the being, mind, and actions as a long disgusting battle over the last few decades. Now that the largely Catholic and Corporate ideologies are considered gauche, we are still buying into narratives of religious crusades? Is it not apparent that power struggles of puppet governments are vivid distractions and costly choreographed sideshows to the sculpting of our global society? I reject that we should compliment ourselves for our western open-mindedness, acceptance of any people within our fences, plutocratic progress, while we close our eyes, ears, and minds to people in the east.
I have recently been working on the In Medias Res series, a story of the shape of the universe and of consciousness. It begins, like us and every situation we encounter-- in the middle and discovers the present reality as the configuration of awareness. This sounds kind of heady or new age-ish to some people so I am going to get a little more blunt in light of the destruction, deception, and death we could potentially be saturated with in the coming days or years.
The worldview we take is connected to all life on this planet. The timeline curves which constitute the trees of life in these works resembling the bonsai embody the beauty, perseverance, the imaginative space, evoked by this practice of calculated cultivation and also carries non-visible distortions impinged by a ruling party.
I am sharing this with each of you because I have been asked a few times for some affordable drawings in the past year, and to fundraise for materials and my price gouged Russia/Ukraine utilities to construct these works as wall sculptures continuing the physical style of the "In Medias Res" style found on my website and exhibited recently at art fairs in the United States. These dwatercolors are being sold at the Wholesale price and are discounted by $300 for the next month. In addition to collecting a little beauty for your homes or office which remind us to create the world we want to live in, the act of supporting this work as patrons in the watercolor phase of production grants existence to these works and will enable this voice to crescendo into a solo exhibition in New York and possibly internationally with some patrons and curators already expressing interest.
Thank you,
Mark
