Adamah (Earth) by Marjorie Schwartz Image: Adamah is the Hebrew word for “earth.” It means dirt and soil, but also grounding. Adamah makes me think about planting bulbs in the fall. Of course the word “bulb” is also used to refer to light. Just as flowers lie dormant deep underground, the sun hides itself in the heavens at night. Even when things appear stuck or stagnant, everything is alive in its waiting.
