Throw That D is a reference to the song by the same name by the 80’s explicit Hip Hop group 2 Live Crew. I wanted the painting to reflect Miami and heavy bass. The brush strokes were painted while listening to bpm of this song and my graffiti spirit character shielding itself behind the “D”. This painting was created for an exhibition at Art Basel in 2018.
