Booty Bass is a painting using the slang term for the 80’s genre of music coming out of the Miami Hip Hop scene. I wanted the painting to reflect that sexy heavy bass of the 808 kick drum. The brush and spray paint strokes are fast and heavy like the music which I listened to in my youth. This painting was created for an exhibition at Art Basel in 2018.
