I attended Illinois Wesleyan University where I studied music education and voice and the American Conservatory of Music where I received a Masters in Vocal performance. I taught music for several years, did some professional singing and also worked at Milner Library at ISU.
I received an MFA in art studio at Illinois State University in 1988 where I specialized in metal working.
I started Main Gallery 404 in in downtown Bloomington in 2008 with Martha Burk. We had the galley until 2013. I now have a studio in downtown Bloomington and am a full time artist.
I explore color, shape and depth perception through the use of a variety of media. My background in music influences my visual art to a great extent. My choices of visual elements reflects that fact and also shows the influences of nature and the world around me.
