This is a form the artist returns to often because it reminds him of an owl's beak. Each piece is made of natural fiber, stitched tightly to hold its shape, and fastened firmly at the center with a stone. The coil turns inward until it becomes dense and self-supporting. The artist considers the pieces complete when tension, gravity, and material reach equilibrium.
