Linnea works in several different mediums. She uses the attributes of Watercolour and Acrylic to add complexity within the surface of her paintings to create an illusion of movement; stirring a memory or an emotion for the viewer. Growing up in Calgary and having a cottage in Invermere the 3 hour travel time winding through Alberta’s vast mountains and summer tumbling around in nature is what grew Linnea’s love for nature’s beauty and bases her artwork on this; a constant eye of seeing;” Love for the unspoken words of nature”.
Description: This traditional medium of watercolour on a nontraditional sub-straight gives these watercolours a unique mysterious feel, that leaves the viewer to observe a little closer. The watercolours interaction with the canvas leaves the artist with a constant challenge, leaving the canvas revealing translucent layers with a soft dreamlike quality to the edges of the work. Carefully building these layers, leaving a translucent history, using depth of colour, luminescence & surface transitions, transitions of slight sodalities leaves the viewer an unconventional perspective.
