This painting is more about feeling than place - hence the title Solace.
The painting came about as I was searching for a tranquil place in my mind. And so it's an amalgamation of places where I’ve felt quiet and calm, from a misted beach at Sandsend to the softness of mists across the vale of York and the nostalgia of the sky I see as I cross the border to Scotland.
