Encounter is a captivating watercolor and gouache painting that evolved from studies with live models, showcasing a unique blend of expressive brushstrokes and minimal detail. The fluidity of the colors creates a sense of movement and spontaneity, while the use of negative space and play of light and shadow add depth to the image. The warm earth tones, blues, and reddish-browns used in the palette contribute to the artwork's ethereal quality. The positioning and posture of the figures suggest an interaction or shared moment, allowing for various interpretations. Overall, the painting borders on abstract, capturing the essence and mood of the scene rather than providing clear, literal forms.
