Every winter and spring, the West Australian Silver Princess trees (Eucalyptus caesia) burst into glorious colour with their spectacular pink or red blossoms, providing a feast for wattle birds and endangered black cockatoos. These flowers are followed by large, urn shaped gumnuts. I found this sprig of silver gumnuts lying on a wooden bench at a local bakery, whilst I was holidaying in the southwest. Someone else had evidently thought they were beautiful too and left them there for others to admire. I hope you find them just as appealing.
