Vincent, 2023

This piece was inspired by a challenge from our NE Minneapolis Haecceity Gallery to create a piece inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. I usually don't participate in these challenges because they always feel more conducive to painters.
This mule deer in unusual because it has the lower jaw attached. My husband wired it to open and shut - which is pretty danged cool! As I was thinking about my color pallet for Vincent, I recalled Van Gogh's Starry Night and voila', I had a piece for the Van Gogh themed event for the 2023 Art-A-Whirl!
