This drawing is part of a larger body of work titled This World of Flowers. It is an insect for the garden. The body of work includes a series of original hand drawn images in color pencil and acrylic paint as well as larger drawings and painting in oil paint. They are all inspired by a Haiku by Basho written in 1730.
That which blossoms
falls, the way of all flesh
in this world of flowers.
