You know, it's funny how memories of that trip to Ireland seem to dim over time, like trying to hold onto the wisps of a fading dream. I can still picture the vibrant greens of the countryside and hear the lively tunes echoing from the pubs, but they're becoming softer, more distant. Yet, there are these moments that refuse to fade completely—the taste of hearty Irish bread, the feel of ancient stone beneath my fingertips as I explored ancient ruins, the laughter shared with new friends over pints of Guinness. It's like trying to catch smoke in your hands, but even as the memories blur, they leave behind this warm, nostalgic glow that I'll always treasure.
This is the feeling that doing an encaustic photo transfer creates. It creates an ethereal effect on the beautiful landscape pictures of Ireland. It especially works for the areas of mist that appear in a number of pictures. I hope the memories speak to you.
