When I moved to Maine in October of 2022, I had 10 days of time to fill before the moving van would arrive with my furniture from Florida. I revisited places I had seen while vacationing here on Mt. Desert Island some 15 years before. Recent knee surgery kept me from going very far out onto the rocks to look up at Bass Harbor Light, so I looked down, and was thrilled with the nearly complimentary color contrast where the pinkish-orange rocks met dark pine-green water.
