Laguna Madre Series from Jessica Monroe Fine Art

Island Meditation I was created during the artist’s residency on a remote spoil island in the hypersaline Laguna Madre. Combining acrylic and graphite, the work captures the rhythm of wind, water, and silence through layered, gestural marks. Both drawing and meditation, it reflects a moment of still presence — the act of listening to place translated into movement and line.
