Isabella in Ink Wash, 2026

Portrait of Isabella Miller, a long time model for the Academy, drawn during a workshop at the Ayrshire Atelier of Fine Art. A work that bridges water media (walnut ink) with drawing. Stonehenge paper was first hand toned with ink and shellac. Once dried, I lightly applied brown pencil for the construct and then introduce ink was into the shadows and background mid way through. Continued variety in the form and exploration of the fall of light finished this delicate portrait.
