I was compelled to capture these beckoning lilac blossoms after a gift of illumination from the lowering sun during a warm spring evening wander in the back yard. Sketched in pencil en plein air, then added a range of shades with monochromatic markers in the studio, and finally painted on a 12 x 12 inch cradled birch gallery panel. Ready to hang.
