In this room I have tried to mix up the sense of the coast both in winter and summer, here in the Uk and abroad.
Painted in 1913 (artist signature is illegible) it evokes a sense of pre-war freedom and by the presence of french labels on the reverse suggests a French coastline. Any information on the location and the artist would be most welcome.
I particularly like the way he has painted the waves and the yachts with such vitality.
