One of the few Welsfords that I have in this room and in the hotel. This looks like the yard to the right of the harbour arm here in Ramsgate. The scene has changed now in that there are more industrial units linked to the wind farm maintenance business that has sprung up over the last few years.
Alan Welsford (b. 1935) is a British painter, sculptor, film artist, and educator known for his contributions to mid-20th-century art. Born in Hainault, Essex, he embarked on his artistic journey after completing national service in the Royal Air Force. Welsford studied painting and sculpture at Walthamstow School of Art from 1956 to 1959 and continued his education at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1959 to 1963.

Throughout his career, Welsford has exhibited his work in various venues. Notably, he showcased his paintings in an exhibition titled "Abcom Series: Paintings 1997-2005" at the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery from April 9 to May 22, 2005.
