I started collecting Dorothy Duval ever since her art came up at Westgate Auctions about 15 years ago. Most of the ones I have are of the area and this one in particular is one of the beaches near Broadstairs. I will get the exact position when I am next there unless someone tells me beforehand!
You will notice that the canvas has been stretched around the back of the frame which is unusual. This is how I bought it. I am always wary of changing frames unless I know that the artist themselves didn't frame it.
In this south facing room one has to be careful of light damage to pictures and that 's why there aren't any watercolours.
