Seashore
Oil On Canvas
Coastal Landscape at Dusk
Oil on canvas, indistinctly signed lower right.
An atmospheric coastal scene depicting a rugged shoreline at twilight, with moonlit reflections stretching across the sea beyond darkened cliffs and foliage. The composition leads the viewer through a rocky foreground path towards the luminous horizon, where subtle tonal transitions of mauve, blue and silver evoke the quiet drama of evening light. Executed with expressive brushwork and a restrained palette, the painting possesses a distinctly moody and contemplative quality. Presented in a period gilt frame with visible age wear adding to its decorative charm.
This is so dreamy. It's a bit damaged with a warped canvas but the effect of this beach scene is still there. It's the use of purple which is so different. I can't remember where I got it from, nor who painted it? Can anyone help?
