This work explores the sense of not feeling grounded. There was so much uncertainty in 2020 and 2021. Often in my therapy work I support people to nudge up to their comfort zone and move into areas of fear and anxiety. In the pandemic we were all thrown into sea of not knowing. At times it felt intolerable. Unbearable. Sometimes I feared my head would explode or my heart would burst open and pain would spill out. It was like I was floating, disconnected from the ground. Dissociated from myself and my body.
So I pulled out all my coping strategies. There was no way I was going to let my clients down at this time in history. I found a naturopath to help my nervous system and bring me out of trauma physiologically. Herbal medicine was a gift from the Gods, supporting my gut health and reflux symptoms. I returned to my therapist now living in NSW through telehealth. My supervisor was a weekly support, even though he was in lockdown himself. I attended online and eventually in person Kinesiology sessions to shift my energy. I walked. And I painted.
And painted.
