My pieces are cyanotypes, the blue and white prints that are a type of 19th century photography. This framed piece is a Cyanotype photo process interrupted by spraying water and color altered by turmeric.
Climate change is already here. California, where I live, has had more devastating wild fires in the last three years than any other time in its history. The area where I live is heavily wooded and less than a mile from regional hiking trails, making it in one of the high fire danger zones. Fire Season used to be only in the summer months. Now it is in late fall and any season.
I donate proceeds from my art sales to environmental nonprofits and my artwork to public schools here in Oakland.
