[EN] This photograph captures the multigenerational legacy of Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Xuân and her Japanese soldier husband, whose Vietnamese name was Mr. Nguyễn Văn Đức (Japanese name: Shimizu Yoshiharu). Together, they had three children (two sons and one daughter). By 2014, when the artist took this photograph, all of their children were already over 60 years old. The child appearing in the image is their great-grandchild, representing the fourth generation born from this enduring and profound love story. Mrs. Xuân herself is also the central figure in another important photograph from the series.

[FR] Cette photographie témoigne de l’héritage multigénérationnel de Madame Nguyễn Thị Xuân et de son mari, un soldat japonais dont le nom vietnamien était Monsieur Nguyễn Văn Đức (nom japonais : Shimizu Yoshiharu). Ensemble, ils eurent trois enfants : deux fils et une fille. En 2014, lorsque l’artiste prit cette photographie, tous leurs enfants avaient déjà plus de 60 ans. L’enfant apparaissant sur l’image est leur arrière-petit-enfant, représentant la quatrième génération née de cette histoire d’amour durable et profonde. Madame Xuân est également la figure centrale d’une autre photographie importante de la série.

[VI] Bức ảnh này ghi lại di sản nhiều thế hệ của bà Nguyễn Thị Xuân và người chồng là một người lính Nhật Bản, có tên Việt Nam là ông Nguyễn Văn Đức (tên Nhật: Shimizu Yoshiharu). Họ có với nhau ba người con: hai trai và một gái. Đến năm 2014, khi nghệ sĩ chụp bức ảnh này, tất cả các con của họ đều đã ngoài 60 tuổi. Đứa trẻ xuất hiện trong ảnh là chắt của họ, đại diện cho thế hệ thứ tư được sinh ra từ câu chuyện tình yêu bền bỉ và sâu sắc ấy. Bản thân bà Xuân cũng là nhân vật trung tâm trong một bức ảnh quan trọng khác thuộc cùng bộ ảnh.
