OF TRUTH OF WATER The Blue Gallery, Brantwood, East of Lake, Coniston, LA21 8AD. 15th March- 13th July 2024. from Frances Hatch

19. COPPERED BRACKEN SHINES ON THE FOOTHILLS OF THE OLD MAN OF CONISTON by Frances Hatch Image: The rise on the left known locally as Bell was named St George's Hill by Ruskin but the name didn't stick. Oak tree saplings are being planted along the ridge (and eaten by the sheep) The little hillock on the right doesn't have a name I know of. It has a holly tree (a few actually) emerging out of the shelter of piled rocks on its peak.
