Lisa Nigro (b. Milford, CT, USA) is a multidisciplinary artist employing diverse mediums and forms, from ceramic assemblages and sculptures to large-scale, socially engaging, interactive public art. Her work has featured at Burning Man, Houston Art Car Parade, and Bosch Parade, Netherlands.
Nigro's most notable works are “Angler Maiden” floating sculpture with performance and 2025 winner CodaAwards Top 100; “Phoenix Rising” steel sculpture with interactive flame component which causes the Phoenix flames to pulse in unison with a participant’s heartbeat 2019; “Phaya Nāgas” mosaic swing set, Smither Park, Houston 2016-20.
She holds an MFA in sculpture from the University of Texas, Austin and a BFA in painting, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She was Artist-in-Residence at Sculpture Space, NY 2024 and Bosch Parade 2022. She is recipient of Individual Artist Grants, City of San Antonio 2022+23; Burning Man Honorarium 2019; Orange Show Center for Visionary Art Commission Award 2016; and most recently received invitation to participate in XVI FLORENCE BIENNALE 2027.
