During the 4th of July celebration, as the grand finale began to explode over Yaquina Bay Bridge, I decided to try a longer exposure to see how it would turn out. Taking just a 5-second exposure resulted in this image that I call, "Prolonged Exposure." It almost looks like a nuclear detonation in the distance as the bright lights blended from multiple fireworks explosions splays out behind the bridge. What really touched me, though, is what is happening in the sea grasses and dunes of Yaquina Bay State park. A lone figure stands aloof in the distance. A child inspects something on the ground. A woman points for her companions. A family stands in rapt attention while a man captures the scene on his cell phone. This is a unique snapshot of Newport coast life featuring a great holiday and our beautiful bridge. I had this printed on special high-quality Epson metallic photo paper, then mounted with a 1/8" glare free acrylic face. It is fine art gallery quality and condition.
