The SHSU University Art Collection includes a large percentage of works by artists who have lived in Texas. Many of the works have a connection to Huntsville or the central / southeast Texas Piney Woods region, as well as works by artists from Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. The Collection of Texas Art includes works of early Texas art, mid-century regional modernism, Texas landscapes, visionary and outlier art, and contemporary art.
