During an artist residency at the historic Dune Shacks in Provincetown, Massachusetts, I walked the same sands once traveled by Hans Hofmann, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, and writers such as Tennessee Williams, E.E. Cummings, and Jack Kerouac.
Hans Hofmann’s legacy remains a profound influence on my work. He is buried at Snow Cemetery in Truro, a quiet place I’ve known since childhood.
With permission, I painted beside his grave— a moment of reverence, reflection, and connection.
