Characterized by surrealistic imagery combined with autobiographical elements, her artistic style serves as a visual representation of her life experiences and nuanced emotions.
Jordyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medical Humanities from the University of Texas at San Antonio and will continue her education in a Physician Assistant Master’s Program in 2024 to advance the health of her community. She embraces two seemingly disparate passions—medicine and art. These worlds converged when Jordyn started working as an artist at her local hospital, offering art engagement activities to patients facing life-altering health challenges. Jordyn facilitates art activities to provide patients with a creative outlet, much like how art serves as her own means of expression. Her work helps patients connect with their creativity, enabling them to tell their stories and cope with, and even transcend, their circumstances.
As Jordyn continues to evolve creatively and advances her education to serve her community, she is committed to integrating the powerful and healing nature of art wherever she goes. She envisions creating future programs for her patients to utilize art as a healing tool. Jordyn invites viewers to introspect when viewing her artwork, encouraging them to find connections in shared emotions. She believes that art is a universal language that can empower, heal, and connect us all.
