Shara studied with Daniel Mirante & Laurence Caruana at the Visionary Arts Academy Summer Seminar in Torri Superiore, Italy, and with Amanda Sage. All of these master painters studied with Ernst Fuchs & Brigid Marlin: following a direct lineage of the Mischtechnik. Shara brings all of this experience to her public art & to teaching and mentoring in Fitchburg & as a resident artist at Main Street Studios. Paganism has taught her the power of “ARTivism” and involvement in her community, both locally and globally. By making public art and coordinating community events in the local region, and by being an Art Steward and leader in Fitchburg, Shara is teaching, sharing, and practicing the ideas of co-creative, collective, community engagement and empowerment. “We are building sustainable practices to keep our community strong and vital. By creating public art, we send messages and plant seeds for future generations to learn sustainable practices for global healing”, says Shara. She has created 5 murals in her hometown of Fitchburg in the past 3 years. They share stories of heart opening, resilience, reaching towards change and represent many diverse types of artists and ethnicities within the population. Shara organized the Lowe Park Chalk Art Festival; a 1-day event where professional artists, community groups & children make art with chalk in designated spaces on a basketball court in a local park. There is music & food. The event connects the people, while giving them ownership of the art being created in their own space. It serves a marginalized population in a low-income neighborhood, provides resources & builds pride. Shara’s path is to guide others to be their best selves, providing tools for their own empowerment & success. Shara balances her personal painting practice with her civic engagement and public art projects. She works to continue making an impact in the world, locally and globally.

“Inspired by the myth of the sirens. Face to face with one's dreams and desires. Do you take that leap of faith into your possible doom? Are you willing to face the death of the 'you' of now to become the 'you' of the future?”
