Shifting Perspectives

"My artwork depicts not only the objective reality I am in, but also thrives on the emotions I feel from both past and present experiences. Much of my work is formed from how I view fragmentation and fragments; the isolated and incomplete parts that make up the whole. Like history, these fragments can be edited, rewritten, omitted, and reinterpreted to create one's perception of reality.
There is no beginning or end with these fragmentations, there is just interaction and exchange. The dense flecks of color populating the surface, light against dark, muted against vivid, come together to ultimately create an image simultaneously unified and disparate, often reflecting the alienation of the subject itself." — Kiley Ames
