About the artist
Gisèle Giraud
American
My name is Gisèle Giraud and I'm a French-American mixed media artist from Austin, Texas. Being self-taught, I started drawing with my dad when I was no older than 6 years old. We would sit down at the dining table for hours recreating cartoons from his old french comic books such as Asterix, Gaston, and Lucky Luke. Ever since then, I've experimented with all types of mediums and have found that acrylic, oil, and digital to print transfer allows me to convey my thoughts to reality best. In 2022, two of my pieces were chosen to be part of the People's Gallery, an exhibition at Austin City Hall that displays regional artwork.
