Kenn Kotara (born 1960, Lake Charles, LA) is an artist, educator and advocate. His mixed-medium works exploit systems in language, geometry, cartography, and more, synthesizing graphic communication and architecture into what he labels landscapes. Kotara has exhibited at the Asheville Art Museum, North Carolina Museum of Art, Center for Political Contemporary Art (Wash. DC), Painting Center (NYC), Urban Institute of Contemporary Art (Grand Rapids), and Gallery Meepyung (Korea), among others. His work is in the permanent collections such as the Asheville Art Museum, Louisiana State Museum, Hilliard University Art Museum (UL-Lafayette), U.S. Embassy-Jamaica & Thailand, University of Texas Southwest Medical Center (Dallas), Bellagio (Las Vegas), Peninsula (Paris), Sun City (Tokyo), Western Asset Management (Sao Paulo), and the Yale-New Haven Hospital.
