Post-college he moved to New York City, where he established himself as Pincel Galactic in the booming Latino art scene of Brooklyn and Queens. It is under this identity that he further defined his artistic style. Drawing from elements of Latin American culture and the modernity of New York City, he was inspired to create a series of works that intersect futurism, third-world traditions, and states of consciousness.
To create his series of works he uses acrylic paint on various surfaces such as wood panels and illustration boards, as well as digital productions. Along with creating paintings and illustrations, Juan has expanded into album cover art, book covers, animated music videos, video jockey performances, murals, and fashion design. In 2019, he was selected by Samsung as a celebrated Latinx artist who incorporates his cultural history into his works of art.
