She has created public artworks for Santa Monica Fire Department, for Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey; for the Sandler Neurosciences Center at UCSF; for Amazon.com in Seattle; for the City of Sacramento and the Los Angeles Police Department. Aschheim has received grants from the Center for Cultural Innovation, the California Community Foundation, the Cities of Los Angeles, Pasadena and Glendale. She has been artist-in-residence at MacDowell; Headlands; McColl Center, Bemis and Roswell, NM A-I-R programs. Aschheim lives in Pasadena.

"Every Wednesday afternoon, Black Lives Matter, families impacted by law enforcement violence and their supporters gathered in front of the ACLU downtown in Los Angeles, across the street from the police union. This is the always inspiring Janaya Future Kahn, reinforcing solidarity across the coalition of diverse communities.
My work is about memory and place. I make installations, sculptures, drawings, interventions into public space, community engagement projects, and projects on social media. I have worked with communities ranging from East L.A. social justice activists, L.A. County disability community, Santa Monica first responders, seniors and memory patients, and voters/future voters across California. For the past 10 years, I have been telling California stories, excavating the collective memory of historical activism, and working to witness and document history being made now that I am also a participant in."
