Adrienne De Guevara (she/her/ella) De Guevara Art Studios located in Goleta, California is driven by the experimental inquiry with shapes, mediums, and discarded objects. De Guevara combines self-taught and formal training in visual and performing arts to achieve a unique expression outside of any specific pedagogy. De Guevara attended Santa Barbara City College and Parsons School of Design where she learned the fundamentals of composition and art history. De Guevara’s performance work has been presented in Santa Barbara, CA, San Francisco, CA, New York City, and Putney, VT. De Guevara co-founded Crux Productions, a theater and film production company in Brooklyn, NY, was co-creator of Mister Sister, an Avant-Vaudeville comedy duo performing in night clubs in Manhattan, front woman for Shakti Pops, an electronic-kirtan band, and has experience as a director and lighting technician on various projects in New York City and Vermont. For the last three years she has co-created Masq(p)arade!, an annual performance progressive in collaboration with Pianos on State in Santa Barbara, CA. She is also the co-creator of the Kinetic Cake Express slated to happen in April of 2024 and is a primary collaborator at MISC Workshop in Santa Barbara, CA. This past fall De Guevara was granted an Individual Fellowship Grant as an Emerging Artist from the California Arts Council. Currently, De Guevara works as the Programs and Fund Development Officer for the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative, serves on the board of the Children’s Creative Project, and is an avid community organizer focused on the arts.
