"Inspired by research into light sciences… this white neon tube with black stripes (seen left) releases a hidden rainbow of composite wavelengths when seen through a spectroscope (right)… Leaning into deep space as a key to our collective subconscious and atomic origins, my vivid sculptures and material interventions overlap optical effects to source new visual encounters. Light is a language we experience through the body. Its palpable glow and high-visibility powers of attraction affect our environments as well as our minds…I find the exchange of electrons which generate light to be an allegory for connection, and I create spaces where a glow can strive towards a tangible presence. In these exchanges, we become linked, defragmenting our little place in the universe, one encounter at a time."
