About the artist

Elizabeth Tremante

Elizabeth Tremante was born and raised on a farm in upstate New York. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles. She has her BA from Union College in English Literature and her MFA in Painting from Stanford University. She has shown her paintings extensively on the West Coast, including solo exhibitions at The Tack Room, The Situation Room, Jancar Gallery, Christopher Grimes Gallery, and the Central Utah Art Center. In addition to painting, Tremante made a large body of collaborative performance works with The Elizabeths and the LA Art Girls. She has performed at The Getty Center, LACE, Irrational Exhibits, University of Tennessee, Acuna-Hansen Gallery and Angstrom Gallery. Tremante is the recipient of the Stanford University Committee for Arts Fellowship, the Gordon F. Hampton Fellowship, The Sustainable Arts Foundation Award and the Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Grant. She will have a solo show in Fall 2022.
